2015 Top 5! Men’s Javelin

The 2015 IAAF Diamond League season saw some sensational throws. We have collated the best in our Top 5 moments from the men's javelin.

Vítezslav Veselý led the Diamond Race standings for much of the season, putting himself in a strong position with good performances at the start of the summer. His throw in Rome comes in at number five.

The Czech would eventually be left shocked and disappointed, though, as Tero Pitkämäki staged an astonishing late comeback in the Diamond Race, snatching overall victory against all odds in the final. Pitkämäki’s throw in Doha features, as does his victory in Monaco, which set the Finn up for his extraordinary comeback and coronation as the first Finnish athlete to claim the Diamond Trophy.

The top spot, though, could only go to one man. Kenya’s Julius Yego had jaws dropping to the floor all over the world with his monster throw in Birmingham. The effort paved the way for Yego’s brilliant and unprecedented victory at the world championships in Beijing later in the summer.
