It’s a Diamond League day! Athletics’ premier one-day meeting series returns this Friday with the first European meeting of the 2023 campaign and another opportunity for the world’s best athletes to pick up points on the Road to the Final.
Fred Kerley and Faith Kipyegon will be looking to extend their winning starts to the Wanda Diamond League season in Italy, while the likes of Dina Asher-Smith, Femke Bol and Joe Kovacs are hoping for a first win of the summer.
The action at the Pietro Mennea Golden Gala begins at 18:30 local time (GMT+2) with the women’s discus and the main programme starts at 20:00 with the women’s 400m hurdles.
