Eugene Live: Wanda Diamond League Call Room

The Wanda Diamond League Call Room returns this Sunday with exclusive interviews with Rai Benjamin, Christian Coleman and Shelby Houlihan, as well as highlights from a decade of the Eugene Diamond League.

This Sunday should have seen the Wanda Diamond League touch down in the USA for the Prefontaine Classic, but instead we are still playing a waiting game as the battle against coronavirus rages on.

As ever, though, there is no better place to wait than in the call room. The latest episode in our lockdown series features an all-American, star-studded line-up of 100m world champion Christian Coleman, hurdles superstar Rai Benjamin and 1500m US record holder Shelby Houlihan

Sprint star Coleman tells us why he wants Olympic glory more than any of his competitors, while Benjamin talks about his rivalry with Karsten Warholm, and his devastating defeat to the Norwegian in last season’s Diamond League Final.

The hurdles ace also admits to struggling with the "emotional rollercoaster" of lockdown, and talks about his struggle to keep motivation high without the prospect of elite competition.

Houlihan, meanwhile, admits that she took the opportunity to "binge on junk food" when the Olympics were postponed, but insists she is still in good enough shape to target a medal in Tokyo next summer.

The long and middle distance star also talks about her breakthrough performance in Eugene in 2018, and her bittersweet American record at the World Championships in Doha last season.

Alongside the three exclusive interviews, we will also be showing some of the best highlights from the last ten years of the Eugene Diamond League.

Tune in live or on-demand on Facebook and YouTube from 20.00 GMT on Sunday, or watch via the stream below.
