With a world class field announced for Eugene in May, it looks set to be another brilliant year for the men's shot put. The discipline has thrown up some incredible duels in recent years, so we take a look back at some of the biggest clashes in the circle.

In exactly 50 days, the ninth IAAF Diamond League season will get underway at the Qatar Sports Club in Doha.

Eugene: Vetter, Röhler Set to Rewrite Pre Classic Record
The two-year-old Prefontaine Classic and Hayward Field record in the men’s javelin is in serious jeopardy, as the two farthest throwers in the world, Johannes Vetter and Thomas Röhler, lead the best field ever assembled in this event at the Pre meet.

Paris Calling World Champions To Charléty Stadium
The curtain fell on the indoor season on Sunday 4 March on the evening of the Worlds in Birmingham. Already though, all eyes are on the 14-episode IAAF Diamond League serial. And there’s good news for the French leg, scheduled for Saturday 30 June 2018 at the Charléty Stadium: four of the heroes from the IAAF World Indoor Championships in Birmingham, last weekend, have confirmed their presence at the MEETING de PARIS. American Christian Coleman, Russian Mariya Lasitskene and French athletes Renaud Lavillenie and Kevin Mayer, all gold medallists in the UK, will be competing in the Parisian meeting.

Eugene: Crouser vs Walsh vs the World in Epic Shot Put
A field featuring every medalist from the last three global championships will set the stage for another epic shot put competition at the 2018 Prefontaine Classic. Heading the field are 2016 Olympic Champion and Oregon native Ryan Crouser and 2017 World Champion and 2018 World Indoor champion Tom Walsh.
