Live athletics returns this Thursday as some of the world’s finest pole vaulters, discus throwers and hurdlers do battle in Oslo and elsewhere at the Bislett Impossible Games.
The Wanda Diamond League exhibition event is the first of its kind, pitting top level athletes against each other and the clock in a range of specially designed, socially distanced formats.
In order to comply with Norway’s coronavirus regulations, athletes will compete simultaneously in different venues and attack world and national records in Oslo’s Bislett Stadium.
Highlights include a long-distance pole vault battle between world record holder Mondo Duplantis and Diamond League record champion Renaud Lavillenie, a virtual 2000m team race between Norway’s Ingebrigtsen brothers and a star-studded Kenyan line-up, and a 300m hurdles world record attempt from 400m hurdles world champion Karsten Warholm.
Duplantis, Warholm, Timothy Cheruiyot and others will take part in a pre-event talkshow this Wednesday, hosted by Oslo meeting director Steinar Hoen.
Tune in below from 17.00 local time (15.00 GMT/UTC) to watch the press conference live.
And if you have a question for any of the Impossible Games superstars, Diamond League moderators will also be relaying selected questions from social media directly to the athletes.
